It’s that time of the year again in Resorts World Genting. Mid-Autumn Festival is coming soon and Resorts World Genting is all geared up for one of the biggest festival celebrated by the people of Chinese ethnicity in Malaysia.
There’s beautiful set up featuring the moon fairy Chang Er at the garden in front of Genting Grand Hotel is ready for your instagram enjoyment, so if you are planning for some beautiful night out with your loved ones or family and friends this coming Mid-Autumn Festival, Resorts World Genting would be a good idea. Bonus: it’s cold and refreshing up there.
Speaking of refreshing, Resorts World Genting is also offering exclusive mooncakes with refreshing new flavours straight from their kitchen for your enjoyment this festive season.
5 NEW assorted flavours of mooncakes from Resorts World Genting; Snow Skin Mango with Pomelo (NEW) – RM17.90, White Lotus Paste with Dried Mandarin Orange Jingsa (NEW) – RM17.90, Sweet corn paste with caramel nuts, cheese jingsa (NEW) – RM17.90, Golden Jade with Lime and Nuts (NEW) – RM17.90 and last but not least, Golden Jade with Buttermilk Custard (NEW) – RM17.90.
Snow Skin Mango with Pomelo (RM17.90) is a vegetarian friendly mooncake. It used vegetable oil and contains no traces of eggs. The taste of the filling is pretty light and on a sweet and sour note. I would personally recommend this flavour of moon cakes for those who cannot take eggs or for those who wants something really modern instead of rigidly traditional.
Sweet corn paste with caramel nuts, cheese jingsa (RM17.90). I don’t really like corns so I have this a pass, but my son loves this one very much, so I guess this one tasted lovely too.
White Lotus Paste with Dried Mandarin Orange Jingsa (RM17.90) is not overly sweet and pretty much addictive. Great to go with Oolong Tea or Jasmine Tea. Recommended for those who loves a bit of orange flavours in their mooncakes.
Golden Jade with Buttermilk Custard (RM17.90) was rich, creamy and definitely exquisite. While it was sweet, it was tolerable and not cloying, so this one is good too if you like rich tasting mooncakes.
Golden Jade with Lime and Nuts (RM17.90) was my wife’s favourite. She couldn’t stop eating this version of Resorts World Genting mooncakes and claimed that this is the best she’s tasted. According to her, and I quote, “The mooncake was infused perfectly with lime and the fragrance is really refreshing in comparison to other traditional mooncakes I’ve ever tastes,”. So I guess this one is a winner too, considering how fussy my wife is when it comes to sweets and desserts. She’s more to spicy and savoury kind of girl and does not really like sweet tasting food, unlike my son and I.
