I was given an opportunity to join some members of the media and bloggers for TSDayOut, a special initiative program by Tourism Selangor in effort to introduce interesting places in Selangor. This is the fifth TSDayOut organized by Tourism Selangor but it’s the first time I joined in along with my wife and my son for our family travel adventure. Having read the email and skimming through the itinerary, we were pretty excited as there’s plenty of family friendly attraction and they will bring us to.
Using the hashtag #TSDayOut2016 throughout the program, our checkpoints and planned activities is as follows:

* Sepang F1 International Circuit- Experience the 1000KM Endurance Race
*Sepang Go Kart Circuit- Go Kart Racing
First stop of the day, Paya Indah Wetlands
We met up with #TSDayOut2016 participants early in the morning at Paya Indah Wetlands and were dividee into groups of 8 before being briefed about the Photo Hunt and the mini competitions that we can participate throughout #TSDayOut2016.

We just had to go on a bit of a treasure hunt where we have to snap pictures of certain landmarks and wildlife at Paya Indah Wetlands in the clues given. One is the Hippo and another is the crocodile. So we headed over to the Hippo Pond and snap some photos of them by using the bicycle provided.
Yes, Paya Indah Wetlands does provide bicycles for those who would like to cycle in the park.The bicycles can be rented for RM5 for 2 hours.

After seeing the hippos, we made way to the nearby crocodile lake just in time for the their feeding session.
While waiting for our group member to finish some of their designated task, we headed over to a lookout tower where we get a 360 degree view of the whole area and we discovered that there’s much more to Paya Indah Wetlands than just the hippos and crocodiles.

After sweating it out on the bicycle and hunting for the photos of the wildlife in Paya Indah Wetlands, we moved forward to our second checkpoint of the day, which is Sepang F1 International Circuit where we get to experience watching the 1000KM Endurance Race first hand.

We were also given the opportunity to be on grid and see first hand how pre-race preparation is made.

We also get to meet and greet with racers. It was at least 45’Celsius on the track. I nearly dehydrated myself but the first hand experience is so worth it. We were also brought to the race control room, media room and also the pitstop.

Sepang 1000KM Endurance Race 2016 Highlights

It was indeed an unforgettable experience, but as per itinerary, our fun did not just ended in Sepang International Circuit. Our delegates were brought to the Sepang International Kart Circuit that is located within Sepang International Circuit to experience Go Kart racing.The track is 1.247km long and 10m wide with 11 challenging curves.

Racing our hearts out. U fortunately for me, watching Initial D and Fast and Furious movies does not make me an excellent racer. Go kart is no simple business and getting good time record for each laps is much more difficult than I think, but while I did not win any prize for go kart racing with other TS DayOut 2016 participants, I had fun nevertheless and would want to do it in the nearest future.

#TSDayOut2016 was really fun and informative and I must say it is a very good effort by Tourism Selangor to introduce interesting attractions in Selangor that has been overlooked.
