Reason Of Proposing The Video Streaming Project:
1. Due to the MOSC2011 is held at Bayview Resort Batu Ferringhi, a lot people are unable to attend as they are not able to take leave to go to Penang. Since they wish to be part of the event, by watching the video streaming, will enable them to catch up what is going on at the MOSC2011 and feel like that are involving in the event.
2. Archiving the talks. Due to it is not everyday we can see speakers from all around the world and all around the country gather at the same place to give speech, it is best if we have the recording of the talks and make it available on the Internet after the event over. These recorded videos will also be something useful for those beginners who wanted to learn more about Open Source, as a lot of them are usually unable to attend any Open Source talks, due to there might not be any talks at the place where they are living at.
3. By streaming some of the talks live on the Internet, it can also increase exposure of the event to those who do not know much about the annual MOSC conference. By viewing the live video stream, people will know more about what is MOSC is all about.
4. By gathering more people to volunteer to join the video streaming project team, we can also increase the team work spirit which it will be an advantage for future Open Source events. The whole video streaming team can also gain a chance of doing R&D on how to improve the streaming quality from each time streaming, hence we can produce quality video streaming for each events with minimal cost. (Although there is not much volunteers involve this time due to some issues.)
