Love all things local flavours but not quite sure where to actually enjoy them in Kuala Lumpur? Well, I recently discovered that there’s this one place that you might want to look into; Anson Kopi&Patisserie.

image

Located somewhere near Old Klang Road in Kuala Lumpur, the cafe not only serve delicious local delights, but the interior is insta-worthy as well.

image

But I wouldn’t want to talk about their interior design. That’s something you need to see for yourselves in order to admire. What I want to talk about is their mouthwatering food. You will be spoiled for choices in Anson Kopi&Patisserie, but here’s recommending some of the must order dishes off from their menu.

Hot Pot Yee Mee. A very homey and comforting meal. The hot pot was served generously with yee mee and the soup was very flavourful, with the absence of msg flavourings.

image

Curry Laksa. The curry laksa is creamy and rich but leans more on to the spicy side. If spicy noodles is your thing, then this bowl of noodles is definitely for you.

image

Kedah Mee Soto. This dish comes with a choice of yellow noodles, beehoon and koay teow. It’s basically a clear herbal chicken soup with noodles topped with shredded chicken and served with a side of spicy soya sauce sauce. Absolutely delicious. Another must try item on their menu.

Kelantan Beef Noodle. I’m not a huge fan of beef, so I nearly gave this a miss, but I’m glad that I tried this, as the dish is really fantastic. Not only it is generously served with beef and all the ‘spare parts’, but the soup lacks the usual pungeant smell that beef noodle soup gives off. I definitely approve this.

Tomyam Mee Raja is really delicious. Comes generously with some seafood bits and quite spicy as well. But it’s nothing most Malaysian can’t handle.

Nasi Lemak Sotong.
Generously portioned per serving, the Nasi Lemak is highly satisfying. Especially with the generous chunky sambal sotong on the side. Nasi Lemak lovers should really give this a try.

Anson Signature Fried Rice. It’s a party on a plate. The Anson Signature Fried rice is highly recommended if you like a wholesome meal in just one plate.

image

Braised Dark Soy Chicken Rice This rice dish features whole chicken leg that was perfectly braised in sweet dark soy sauce and served with a side of braised white tofu and braised boiled egg alongside with blanched Bak Choy vegetable. A humble and comforting meal. It’s not spicy, so children will love this.

Tomyam Baked Chicken. The chicken dish.comes with a side of potato wedges and salad, the dish is highly appetizing.

image

Sarawak Baked Chicken Fans of savoury chicken dishes will adore this one, I reckon. The chicken was really juicy and flavourful.

Cendol and Ice Kacang a sweet end to all the savoury and spiciness. Simply cooling.

There are a variety of beverages at Anson Kopi&Patisserie, but here’s what came highly recommended by the staffs over there; Hazelnut Soya, Coconut Coffee, Coconut Soya, Soya Coffee, Hazelnut Coffee and Wild Oat Milk.
