Following the new government’s announcement that as of June 1, 2018 the Goods and Services Tax (GST) will be at zero per cent, popular indoor sports venue provider Sports Arena has decided to “celebrate” the occasion with the public.
All of its branches throughout the country will be open to the public for free on 31st May 2018 throughout their operating hours from 8am till 3am the following day.
There will be no charge for those wanting to use their badminton or futsal courts, which are of top quality, but subject to availability, as their way of saying ‘thank you’ to the respective communities for their loyalty  even when the 6% GST was in force.
Sports Arena’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Datuk Jack Koh said: “Ours have been the venues of choice for numerous athletes and sports enthusiasts over the years and we hope it will continue to remain so for many years to come especially now with GST being lifted which eases the financial burden of our clients.
“So, to show our appreciation to our clients and the respective communities, all are welcome to use our facilities absolutely free on 31st May. We will also be revealing our new court prices which will be lowered by as much as 30% effective 1st June,” he said.
“Besides celebrating the abolishment of GST and expressing our gratitude to our clients, this is also part of our continuous effort to promote sports and healthy lifestyles for all Malaysians, young and old,” added Datuk Jack who is also the founder of the Malaysia Purple League for badminton.
Those intending to take advantage of this opportunity are advised to call the hotline of any Sports Arena branch to check court availability and book ahead for the desired slot. On top of that, all four branches will be serving light buffet food and drinks on 31st May from 7pm-10pm for all to indulge in before or after their sporting activity.
The Sports Arena brand provides one-stop hubs for Sports, Enrichments/Education and Wellness at four locations – Sentosa, Mahkota Cheras, Puchong and Bukit Serdang – with a brand new branch expected to open in Falim, Ipoh later this year. It will be the first Sports Arena outside the Klang Valley offering some of the best, modern and comfortable commercial indoor facilities in the country.
