Are you familiar with the word Feng Shui? Yes? No? Some of you may have heard about it. Feng Shui is an ancient art and science that was already widely rcognized over 3,000 years ago in China. In literal translation of the Chinese language, feng means “wind” and shui means “water.” In Chinese culture, wind and water are associated with good health, thus good Feng Shui simply means good fortune. Conversely, bad feng shui means bad luck or misfortune.
Some elements of Feng Shui practice can be dated back at least 6,000 years, and it contains elements of various branches of scholarly study, including physics, philosophy, astronomy, and astrology.
I’m no expert but I had this opportunity to get up-close and personal with Ms. Amanda Leong, Feng Shui& Metaphysic Consultant recently and according to her, Feng Shui is simply an art of placement and understanding how the placement of yourself and objects within a space affects your life in various areas of experience. It is a complex practice that teaches you how to be more aware of your surroundings and to balance and harmonize with the energies in any given space. The said space can be a home, office, or garden. Simply put, Feng Shui is simply a practice that helps to invite good fortune for the people inhabiting certain space.
