WTF!? Not Syok Ar? Bite Me Lar!

This is not a diary! And for those who think blog is a diary, why you write your diary and put it on the web? So stupid!

Blog Theme Changed

As you can see now, the theme of this blog has changed.
I’ve been wanted to change the theme of my blog since long time ago, but was reluctant to do so as I am lazy to customize everything all over again and place banner ads in those places where not much plugins can do.
Another reason why I reluctant to change the theme, is because most new themes are not compatible with a plugin called “fancy excerpt”. And yes, this new theme also not compatible with “fancy excerpt”… duh…

But there are a few important reason why I decided to change the theme today.
The main reason, is because the old theme, does not support nested comments. Previously, the comments are very messy and for each reply, I have to put a @commenter-name in order to show the reply is to who. Also it is had to follow up on which comments is replies to which comments.
Now using this new theme, this issue has been overcome.

The 2nd reason, is because of some part of the old theme, did not pass the “W3C Markup Validation”.
Not only it did not pass, it even have some junk codes showed in modern browsers at plain text and causing the whole blog looks very messy!
Now, with this new theme, the blog looks much cleaner already!

The 3rd reason, duh… Compatibility with plugins!
I used to give up on using a lot of nice plugins just because of the old theme are not compatible with these plugins.
Some plugin even crash with the theme! Weird right?
But now, I think I can start to try those nice plugins without much hesitations already.

And the 4th reason?
Well, you can see this new theme had preserved the old plugin’s colours, which is red and black, right?
To be exact, it looks more red than the previous theme.
Since few more days later is Chinese New Year, so why not change my blog to something more red to celebrate Chinese New Year?

Anyway, currently I just leave this theme for some time, if it works well without crashing with my plugins, then it will going to be the permanent theme of my blog.
Honestly, I am still quite reluctant to change the theme, since I had been using the old theme since year 2007…

Accidental Bride

Accidental Bride by Denise Hunter. The title of this book may sound like those typical romance that you can finish in 2 hours time, but you’re in for a surprise if you’re expecting a typical romance. This is no typical romance or a chic-lit. It’s a Christian romance and have loads of moral values embedded in it. Among it is that trusting Him and living for His glory instead of just trying to please the people around you. This book also tells you that when your world is upside down, He will make it all right again, in His time.

A very wonderful and entertaining book to read and you could almost feel for the character when you read this book. The plot is rather slow, but bearable.

I highly recommend this for those who are looking for something easy and entertaining to read. Would be perfect for a lazy Sunday afternoon read.

I rate this book 4 out of 5 stars. I received an ARC of this book from Thomas Nelson Publisher and I was not required to write a positive review for this book.

Book description:

When a wedding reenactment turns real, this cowgirl suddenly finds she’s an accidental bride.

Shay Brandenberger is raising her daughter in Moose Creek, Montana on her childhood ranch, nestled against the Yellowstone River. Despite her hard work, she can’t seem to keep her head above water—and now the bank is threatening to foreclose. She prays for a miracle, but the answer she receives is anything but.

Having agreed to play the bride in the Founders Day wedding reenactment, Shay is mortified to be greeted at the end of the aisle by none other than Travis McCoy, her high school sweetheart—the man who left her high and dry for fame and fortune on the Texas rodeo circuit.

Then the unthinkable happens. Thanks to a well-meaning busy body and an absent minded preacher, the wedding reenactment results in a legal marriage. But before Shay can say annulment, Travis comes up with a crazy proposal. If she refuses his offer, she’ll lose her home. But if she accepts, she may lose her heart.

Shay isn’t sure if the recent events are God’s will or just a preacher’s blunder. Will trusting her heart to the man who once shattered it be the worst mistake of her life? Or could their marriage be the best accident that ever happened?

Firefox Can’t Resolve IPv6 Domains?

Firefox About Config

Firefox can support IPv6 without any problem. Unless you’ve been disabled the Firefox’s IPv6 resolve before this.
From the picture above, it is pretty straight forward on how to re-enable back IPv6 DNS resolve for Firefox.

At the address bar, just type in “about:config”, then you will be greeted with the “This might void your warranty” page.
Just click on the “I’ll be careful, I promise!” and proceed. Since when Firefox got warranty anyway? It is a free software after all.
Now, the advance configuration page will appear. Just type in “ipv6″ in the “Filter” area, then you can see the “network.dns.disableIPv6″. Just click it and press enter, it will toggle back to “false”.
Make sure the “Value” is false, because we want to prevent the disability of IPv6.

Ok, now you are free to close that page and continue to browse any IPv6 capable websites.

Test View Webpage On IPv6 Address (AAAA)

Opera IPv6

Do you know that you can actually access webpage with IPv6 addresses, just like IPv4?
Usually, when view webpages with IPv4 address, you will use URL like “http://209.85.175.106” to view the website.
Well, you can do so with IPv6 addresses as well. But the URL will looks a bit different.
For IPv6, you will need to include “[" and "]“.
Example, http://[2404:6800:800b::68]

So how bout https?
In IPv4, you usually go with the URL like https://209.85.175.106
But in IPv6, you will need to include the SSL port number as well.
So it will be like this: https://[2404:6800:800b::68]:443

This works with most modern browsers, such as Firefox 3.6 or above, Opera, Safari, Chrome and Internet Explorer 8 or above.
And please don’t ask why Internet Explorer 6 can’t. Internet Explorer 6 just can’t do anything much other than use for download other web browsers!

Anyway, enjoy your journey in exploring IPv6!

Browsing IPv6 Capable Websites

IPv6

As we all know, IPv6 will going to be widely use in the near future, as IPv4, the current type of IP we are using now is going to be depleted very soon. Especially the APNIC(Asia Pacific) IPs, which they simply assign very large block for everyone without even saving it at all!

Here, you can see the IPv4 Exhaustion Counter.

Due to this reason, a lot of websites and ISP had already prepared for the transition to IPv6.
This include Google and Facebook as well.
We can actually browse some of the websites on the Internet via IPv6, and guess what? Due to not much people is using IPv6 yet, some IPv6 capable websites are loading much faster when you access the website through IPv6.

Example, http://www.v6.facebook.com and http://ipv6.google.com

Although we can’t totally dependent in IPv6 yet, since most of the websites is still on IPv4 only network, adopting IPv6 earlier does give us a lot of advantage. One of the advantage is as what I mentioned above.
Some other advantages are like, you will be able to learn about the characteristic of how IPv6 is like and it will be easier for you to know what is going wrong when something bad is happening to your configuration etc.

Anyway, in this article, I am going to focus more on teaching how you able to get yourself to use IPv6 to surf the Internet with the easiest way.

So, if you want to connect to IPv6 capable websites, first you need to have an IPv6 IP, which obviously, you can’t get from any of the Malaysian ISP until today. Then how you going to get 1 without need to spend a single cent?
Here is your answer. By utilizing some easy setup IPv6 tunnel brokers, such as teredo.

With this announcement, I declare my stand on opposing the Malaysia BCPM bill, the US SOPA and PIPA bill, as all these three bills will bring disaster to the IT world.     Read More »
