Looking for some good Japanese eats in Klang Valley? Here’s one place I can recommend; Sango Japanese Restaurant. The restaurant already have a history of 22 years in Malaysia and is specialized in serving mouthwatering Yakitori and all sorts of Japanese cuisine.

The dated restaurant is located at level 2 of Crystal Crown Hotel in Petaling Jaya Selangor, Malaysia. Sango Japanese Restaurant is specialized in Yakitori, but they are currently offering delicious Donburi Set Lunch, so instead of their Yakitori, here’s sharing with you their delicious Donburi. The term Donburi is actually a Japanese term for ricebowl, by the way. Popular in Japan as a wholesome, quick and convenient meal filled with balanced and nutritious ingredients.

Here’s sharing with you what we managed to try: Chicken Teriyaki Don, Salmon Teriyaki Ju, Chicken Katsu Curry Don, Gyu Don, Yasai Kaki Age Don, Unagi Tamago Don,Ten Don, and Tempura Soba.

Gyu Don (RM18.90). This donburi was generously topped with beef, onion slices and shimeiji mushrooms. Meat eaers will love this. The rice was drizzled with mildly sweet sauce.

Chicken Teriyaki Don (RM15.90) is definitely chicken lover’s favourite.

Salmon Teriyaki Ju (RM22.90). The grilled Salmon was not overly flavoured and retained it’s original taste. Any fans of fish dish will find this dish very appealing.

Chicken Katsu Curry Don (RM18.90). Japanese curries are usually more on the rich and creamy side. And this one is no exception. Highly recommended for children as it is not spicy.

Ten Don (RM18.90). Freshly steamed rice and topped with assorted tempura pieces and drizzled with light soy dressing.

Yasai Kaki Age Don (RM15.90). A typical donburi usually found in a Japanese home; scrapped vegetable tempura served in a ricebowl. This may look really simple but don’t judge food by it’s appearance. This is quite the bomb and very addictive to eat.

Unagi Tamago Don (RM25.90). This is grilled eel rice bowl. I’m not a fan of eels so I can’t comment much on this one.

Chicken Katsu Tamago Don (RM15.90). Breaded fried chicken served eggs and onions over rice drizzled with savory dashi sauce. Great for those who wants some comfort food.

Tempura Soba (RM18.90). For those who wants noodles instead of rice, can have this one a try. It’s equally good and wholesome.

The Donburi Set Lunch at Sango Japanese Restaurant are priced from RM15.90 per bowl and all of these Donburi comes with soup of the day and 1 scoop of Sango Homemade Ice Cream.
