In the hands of a brilliant cast and creative production team, Ge Tai-The Musicals promises comedy and melodrama where audiences will be brought to travel in time to reminisce about the getai scene that spans three decades from the 1980s.

The spectacular live show that captures the very essence of a popular indigenous art, Ge Tai – The Musical is an extraordinary effort by the best players in the industry. It is billed as a first-of-its-kind Chinese live concert meets musical theatre.

The musical tells the story of how a little known amateur performer in the 1980s ultimately blossoms into a getai star—but not before experiencing many trials and tribulations.

Energetic, wild and carefree

The Creative Team for Getai – The Musical came from a strong mixed of Arts and Entertainment industry players with more than 25 years of expertise and experiences hatching this musical together.

This collaboration between Singapore’s getai celebrities and local musical theatre creators also features Mohan, Tay Ying Ying, Bao Bei Sisters and He Jie, and weekly special appearances by international stars Zhang Di and Cai Qiu Feng.

Ge Tai – The Musical will be held at Genting International Showroom at 9pm, from 1 to 4 October and 8 to 11 October (except on Saturday when there will be two shows, at 4pm and 9pm).
